Recap of Dinner from last night,

We decided to order in and devoured some pizza.  I ordered simple Pineapple & black olives while Chris went with pepperoni pizza.

This Morning, I laced up my sneakers and went for a 3 mile run. I’ve lost my sports watch so I plan to buy one later this week.  It’s killing me not running with a watch to keep accurate time and distance.

Do you eat before you run in the morning?

I get a sick feeling when I do but I’m trying to at least eat a piece of bread or fruit.

Today’s Breakfast was a peach smoothie, I got the idea from Meghann, who had one yesterday.  Considering I’m low on my fresh fruit I used my last bit of frozen, which was a bag of peaches.

1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, 2 cups peaches, 1 cup soy milk.

Time to watch ” The View” and do my meal plan for the week.  I was lazy and didn’t get to it yesterday.

Do you plan your meals in advance?

Rather than make a weekly meal plan, I make a list of all the meals I could make based on what I have in the fridge. Then I feel like I have more options when I come home from work. Otherwise, undoubtably I would NOT want to eat what I had planned for the night. :p

I try to eat something before I run – but it’s a tricky balance to not eat too much beforehand!

I definitely meal plan – it helps to keep my grocery budget under control!

Love the pizza topping combo. One of my faves.

I always try to eat something about 30 minutes before working out. It switches the metabolism on, so if you are running first thing in the morning, it is counterproductive to not eat something. Now, that something does not need to be big, just something to jump start your metabolism. you will burn more energy if you do.

As for planning meals in advance, I do not plan to down to the meal, but I plan weekly. So I buy ingredients for meals we will eat weekly and since I work from home I will ask my husband either just before he gets home or right when he gets home which of these things he wants and then I prepare it. It’s a great idea to plan ahead. Otherwise I think we tend to just settle for what is easy, quick, and probably less healthy.

By the way, nice to meet you on Twitter. Thanks for following me.

i usually need some fuel before i run, but nothing heavy or else i get sick. I like dried fruit or a few bites of a granola bar about 30 minutes before heading out.

i don’t really meal plan in advance because i always find myself craving something different than i planned, but i think it’s a great time and $$ saver so i may try it out again!

hope your enjoying your labor day monday!

Thanks for your support, Nicci! :) Means a lot.

And, I think that I just need a little caffeine before I run. But, if I’m weight lifting, I need fuel!
