Cruisin Down to Central Market

by Nicci on 03/29/2010

This past Thursday, I accepted the Chevy mission to cruise down to my local Central Market in Plano, Texas for some shopping.  Chevy provided me with a little shopping money, which came just in time for my monthly grocery trip.

Shopping + Food = Happy Foodie

I invited one my girlfriends, Kirstyn, to come along with me on this shopping event. We both have busy schedules so we did our shopping later in the evening.

My favorite department of Central Market was the produce department. They have a wide selection of fresh produce.

We spent some time with an employee showing us around every department.

We even sampled the Fermin Iberico Ham, wopping $179.00 a pound….Whoa.

Best tasting ham I’ve ever had in my life!

After three hours of fun, we loaded up the Malibu with our bags of goodies and headed home.

Kirstyn and I are already planning another trip to Central Market next week.

Remember to vote for ME as your favorite Girlfriend Getaway Blogger and enter to win a two-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio for yourself and three girlfriends, plus $400.00 in resort gift certificates by clicking HERE!

I went shopping with Kelsey and Trinity over the weekend too.  More fun pictures/video to come from that adventure.

Chevy Girl on the Go

by Nicci on 03/21/2010

I can’t explain the excitement I’ve felt all week long, waiting until Friday to meet with Chevy reps and pick up ‘my’ brand new Chevy Malibu!!

I’m participating in the Girlfriend Getaway for local North Texas bloggers.

Each blogger was given a beautiful new Chevy Malibu. This BEAUTY is all mine for the next 4 weeks!

I met with Chevy reps to sign paperwork and then all the bloggers headed outside to learn about the features of the Malibu.

Starting Monday I will blog about my experience test driving the Malibu on the DFW Girlfriend Getaway website.  I’ll be sure to link to their site from my blog too.

Happy St. Patty’s Day

by Nicci on 03/17/2010

So far, I’ve pinched two friends at work this morning, for not wearing green :)

I celebrated St. Patrick’s Day this past Saturday with some friends. We went down to the block party & parade in Lower Greenville. The weather was warm and windy but still sunny. We walked around the streets trying to find an ATM that had money, in order to eat some food and get our hands on the green beer everyone was drinking.

(No, I’m not drinking two drinks at once.  I’m holding my friends drink who was taking our picture)

I’m loving Daylight Savings this time around. Even though we have lost an hour, someway, somehow I have managed to wake up with out an alarm. I’ve been waking up at 5:30 and still rested. My normal bedtime is usually around 10:30-11:00pm.

I was pumped to get an early morning workout before packing lunch and getting ready for the work day.

Does anyone workout to ”The Firm” fitness dvd’s?

Those ladies are in top shape and everyone is full of energy…some mornings their too happy for me. lol

Morning Oats

  • 1/2 cup Dannon Light & Fit Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1 package Apple & Cinnamon instant oats
  • 1/2 cup Fruit Not Fat Vanilla Almond Granola

I had forgotent how delicious oatmeal is for breakfast.  I knew that after my morning workout this bowl of oats would keep me full until lunch time.

Lunch: Taco Salad

(ground turkey, full can of  black beans, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes,

 Have a lovely Wednesday!

I’ll be attending a St. Patrick’s Day Wedding in 6 hours, so I’m curious to see if  there will be a lot of guests wearing green. I don’t even know what I’m wearing, but I know it’s nothing green!

Stepping into Spring

by Nicci on 03/09/2010

Spring is almost here; the sun is coming out and the weather is getting warmer.

I used to look forward to Spring break, but now that I’m not in school…sadly I do not get one.

However,  Spring does mean ”Cleaning Time” & more running outdoors. (slacking in that department)

What’s your favorite Spring activity?

  • running
  • swimming
  • biking
  • Spring cleaning
  • reading in the park
